Top-five First-Crop sire Klimt stellar July results continued with Bonus Appreciation’s July 11 maiden special weight win at Monmouth Park.
Over the past five days, Klimt has had two maiden special weight winners and his first North American stakes horse when Quality Bet placed in the Tah Dah S. for 2-year-old fillies.
Bonus Appreciation, who sold for $100,000 as a Keeneland September Yearling, was a 2 1/2-length winner in the five-furlong race for 2-year-olds. He is trained by Steve Asmussen for Kirk and Judy Robinson.
Bonus Appreciation was bred in Kentucky by Southern Comfort Farm, LLC.
Klimt now has five First-Crop winners and is fourth on the Freshman Sires list with $219,031.
